UBF 2011: Redemption

Well, another year, another Ultimate Battle Frontier. [link]

I tried out last year using a character by the name of Leo, and I still haven't given up on him. After a few writing ventures featuring him and some other trainers, I figured I'd try again.

As far as here and now, a lot has changed in a year's time. He used to conceal himself behind a pair of sunglasses, to hide the fact he lost one of his eyes a long time ago. That's why the left eye isn't as detailed as the right - it's glass. However, he has since decided to be more open regarding personal problems. His sight may not be as defined as others competing, but that won't stop him from performing to the best of his abilities.

His team has changed, as well. His Garchomp was taken out of the lineup for its tendency to go berserk at any moment in time; his Metagross and Snorlax were gravely injured during Round 2 of UBF 2010 (story coming soon); these unfortunate circumstances forced him to make several alterations. He came upon one replacement in the same time frame, while he had to decide on two other Pokémon from his reserves. Gender: Female
Species: Charizard
Ability: Blaze
Nature: Mild
Personality: The 'Queen of the Mountain,' she is brash and arrogant, constantly underestimating her opponents. Given her immense power and stamina, it's no wonder she has difficulty relating to anyone outside of Leo's group.
Item: Charcoal
Moves: Flamethrower, Focus Blast, Dragon Pulse, Aerial Ace

Nickname: Phantasm
Gender: Male
Species: Gengar
Ability: Levitate
Nature: Timid
Personality: Cowardly at first glance - and many more after that - but he does have his moments of bravery, and is more than willing to pitch in when necessary. He is Leo's Special Sweeper, and he's proud of it.
Item: Focus Band
Moves: Shadow Ball, Psychic, Giga Drain, Sludge Bomb

Nickname: Iron Maiden
Gender: Female
Species: Steelix
Ability: Rock Head
Nature: Impish
Personality: The first Pokémon Leo ever caught and raised from the ground up. Recently called up to the roster, she is committed to her trainer and to those he considers friends and family. There's a heart of gold beneath all that steel.

Moves: Earthquake, Iron Tail, Rock Slide, Crunch

Nickname: Cascada
Gender: Female
Species: Lapras
Ability: Water Absorb
Nature: Modest
Personality: A motherly figure, she devotes as much time and energy as Leo permits to ensuring the good health and well-being to all around her. Optimistic and altruistic, she is perhaps the most compassionate Pokémon you'll ever meet.

Moves: Surf, Ice Beam, Body Slam, Confuse Ray

Nickname: Sheila
Gender: Female
Species: Jolteon
Ability: Volt Absorb
Nature: Rash
Personality: She is the embodiment of what it means to be fast. She rarely takes long to make decisions, which sometimes leads to trouble. While rash, she is still a devoted lover and mother; her mate and daughter await her success back home.

Moves: Thunderbolt, Bite, Double Kick, Signal Beam

Nickname: Priam
Gender: Male
Species: Weavile
Ability: Pressure
Nature: Jolly
Personality: The new guy on the block, he was caught during UBF 2011. Having abandoned the pack he belonged to, he swore to follow Leo until he could redeem his species for what it put him through. Wet behind the ears, but still a force to be reckoned with.

Moves: Night Slash, Ice Punch, Brick Break, Swords Dance
